# Abnormal AI > Abnormal AI is the AI-native behavioral security company. The Abnormal Behavioral Security Platform uses behavioral AI to protect email, identity, and AI — and to stop insider threats. Abnormal connects to Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace by API rather than deploying as a secure email gateway (SEG). It models normal behavior for the people, vendors, and applications in an environment, then identifies attacks as deviations from that baseline rather than by matching signatures or static rules. - Deployment model: API-based. The standard deployment requires no MX record change and no mail-flow changes. Optional pre-delivery modules add an Exchange Online transport rule, still with no MX change. - Email environments: Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. Identity environments: Microsoft Entra ID and Okta. Feature coverage is deepest on Microsoft 365; several capabilities are Microsoft 365 only. - Detection approach: behavioral AI baselining, not signatures, static rules, or threat intelligence lists. - Typical buyer: mid-market and enterprise security organizations of roughly 1,000 mailboxes and up.
