A live AI attack demo and Anticimex’s story showed why native email defenses alone can’t keep up—and how behavioral AI closes the gap.

Last week in Stockholm, I joined my longtime collaborator Freakyclown (FC) for the latest stop on our AI Roadshow—providing a live look at how fast and convincingly AI has armed attackers to operate, and what it takes to defend against it. If you caught our AI Roadshow recap from DC, you're already familiar with the demo and the through-line: attacks are faster, more personalized, and more scalable than ever. The defenses most organizations rely on were built for a different threat.
While the core message stays the same, every stop turns into a different conversation. Leaders from new companies and industries join us with their own stories, and it’s their perspective from the defender’s side of the table that makes each city memorable.
The Story
Elin Rydström is a security leader at Anticimex—a leading pest management and hygiene company in Sweden. Her story started the same way I hear it everywhere: native Microsoft protections letting things through, near-miss incidents caught only by vigilant employees, and then the realization that native tooling wasn't enough. So she decided to evaluate alternatives, chose Abnormal, and the results followed.
From February to April alone, Abnormal blocked more than 40,000 malicious messages that Microsoft missed and saved Anticimex an estimated $169,000 through AI Security Mailbox automation and graymail filtering combined.
"We needed something to augment our native Microsoft protections—and since we deployed Abnormal, we've seen a dramatic reduction in email-related issues. Abnormal has helped us save both time and money."
— Elin Rydström, Head of IT at Anticimex Global
The Takeaway
Every city reinforces the same reality: the tools most organizations rely on were designed for a different era of attacks. Stockholm was one more reminder that this is a universal problem—and that security leaders everywhere are landing on the same conclusion: you can’t outpace AI attacks with legacy tools; you need behavioral AI.
If you weren't in Stockholm, we're doing more of these. I'd love to see you at the next one. Check out the schedule.
