Meet Kerry Milazzo, Director of People Success
Kerry Milazzo, Director of People Success, has helped guide Abnormal’s culture through hyper-growth from 180 to over 1,300 employees. For her, the constant change brings opportunity, learning, and the chance to shape a company that puts people first while moving fast.

No Two Days Are the Same
Kerry's role spans people programs and business strategy, but that description doesn't capture the daily reality. "What really keeps me here is that no two days are the same. I get bored very easily," she admits from her New York City base.
From new hire programs and immigration to global mobility and manager coaching, her work touches every corner of the organization. "With hypergrowth comes opportunity organically. If you raise your hand, you get to build."
Velocity Without Red Tape
One thing that drew Kerry in and keeps her engaged is the ability to move fast without bureaucratic friction. "There's not a lot of orgs where you come up with an idea and quickly evolve and run with it," she says.
That accessibility starts at the top. "My team goes directly to our Chief People Officer. It doesn't have to get filtered through me. When you remove red tape, you move more quickly."
The founders maintain that approachability even at scale. "Evan meets with new hires every single week and wants them to know a little bit about him. Maintaining that weekly cadence as CEO is super impressive. It's a testament to the culture we're building."
"There's not a lot of orgs where you come up with an idea and quickly evolve and run with it."
Growing As the Company Grows
Kerry joined when Abnormal was a scrappy 180-person startup. "If you'd asked me four years ago if we'd be this size, I'd be like, no way," she laughs. But the growth has created unexpected opportunities for advancement.
"I've worked at large orgs where advancement felt impossible. Here, as we've scaled, employees who've been here early on have scaled with it. It would have been really easy for leaders to bring in their own people, but so many of us have been given the chance to step up."
AI Changed Everything
Not long ago, Kerry wouldn't have imagined using AI in HR. "I would probably have laughed. I had no idea what AI was or how you could be confidential with the data you're putting in."
Abnormal changed that perspective entirely. "AI has been super helpful, made me move really quickly in my role, especially as my team has been building out processes and policies. It's changed how I think about what's possible."
"If you don't like change, then you shouldn't come here because we're going to be constantly changing and growing. That's what I think is fun about working at Abnormal."
Constant Learning, Constant Growth
For Kerry, the pace isn't just sustainable. It's energizing. "We're constantly changing and growing, and that's really fun to be a part of because it means constant learning."
Her advice for potential team members? Embrace the motion. "That's what makes it exciting. That's what makes it Abnormal."
