After 25 years practicing law in Silicon Valley, what surprises you most about working at Abnormal?

The genuine excitement from leadership, honestly. Evan is present in every All-Hands meeting, talking about company growth, our future, the excitement we all find in fighting bad AI with good AI. You don't always see that level of authentic engagement from founder CEOs. It makes everyone here excited about our journey and what lies ahead.

How has your role evolved since joining?

I work closely with our People team on everything related to our most important asset: our employees. With our exponential growth, I'm constantly navigating new countries and legal frameworks. We're finalizing our entity in the Netherlands, onboarding employees in Germany. It's exciting and challenging work that really matters.

How has AI changed your work?

I probably would have laughed if you'd asked me a few years ago if legal would leverage AI. But Abnormal has completely changed my perspective on how AI helps everyone, regardless of their role. We get monthly training, and it's highly encouraged from management down. To really embrace it and start using it in your day-to-day role has been quite an interesting and exciting journey.

Which company value resonates most with you?

Customer Obsession, without question. From our monthly All-Hands where customers talk about how impactful our tool has been in protecting their business, to just understanding the difference Abnormal is making in companies around the world. We're obsessed with doing the best we do for our customers. Our work makes a difference in the world.

What sets Abnormal apart as an employer?

We're very people-forward, employee-forward. I say that as the employment lawyer working closely with the People team every day. Most teams come together in Las Vegas once or twice a year for in-person offsites. We have transparent monthly readouts from leadership Employees are our biggest and most important asset, and you really see that as an employee here. Joining a remote company that really puts its employees first is not the norm, and I think it's really exciting and a great place to work.

What would you tell someone considering Abnormal?

It takes all of us together to make a company work. Not just engineers, but legal, people, marketing teams. The genuine enthusiasm and excitement you see here is something special. You don't always see that at companies, especially at this scale.
